The Remote Monitoring page in the EVO administration allows for the setup of email notifications for system events.
The example illustrates configuration with a Gmail account, but Google has implemented a default security policy that will prevent SMTP authorization, and no messages will be sent.
If a message is attempted, the SMTP user account may receive an email from Google containing a link to instructions that explain how to allow less secure apps access to the account.
Rather than enabling the setting to allow less secure apps, if 2-Step Verification is enabled for the account, you'll have the option to create an application-specific password.
Creating an App Password will allow you to register a trusted application or device (in this case, EVO) to the account, and it will also provide an access log for reference.
