Kit Contents
- 1 x 2U Fixed Shelf
- 8 x M6 Cage Nut
- 8 x M6 Cabinet Screw
Requirements
- EIA-310C compliant 19in server rack/cabinet
- 6 RU required (Total) available space.
- 0.625″ pitch, round hole (square hole compatible)
- Chassis depth 21″ (18″ chassis plus 3″ cable clearance)
Tools required
- #2 Phillips screwdriver
Shelf Installation
- Choose a suitable location in the rack/cabinet to mount the shelf. The shelf itself requires 2U of space within the rack/ cabinet.
- If the rack uses square mounting holes, install the included cage nuts into the square mounting holes on the front posts of the rack.
- Place the shelf into the rack (oriented as shown in picture) and align the mount points on the front brackets of the shelf with the mount points on the rack (e.g. the cage nuts, if used).
- Orientation of the shelf is very important. The supports should be on the bottom, leaving a unobstructed flat surface to place the server.
- Use the provided cabinet screws to secure the shelf to the rack. Use all 8 mount points. If not using the included cage nuts or M6 threaded rack posts, the appropriate mounting hardware for the rack should be used.
- Make sure the screws are properly tightened and the shelf has no movement before attempting to place the server on the shelf.
Server Installation
- Rack rails are included with the system. They will not be used in 2-Post installation.
- Flush-Mount adapters will not be needed for this type of installation.
- If not preinstalled, install any expansion cards before mounting.
- Do not install drives until the system is fully mounted.
- Team lift the system and carefully place on the shelf.
- Check the alignment of the mount points on the front brackets of the server with the mount points on the rack (e.g. the cage nuts, if used).
- Use the provided cabinet screws (included with the server) to secure all 10 mount points to the rack. If not using the included cage nuts or M6 threaded rack posts, the appropriate mounting hardware for the rack should be used.
- Ensure the server is resting on the shelf. If contact has been lost, loosen the shelf and adjust its position.
- Other rack components should not rest on the system unless firmly secured to the posts.
