Before shutting down your team's EVO, it is recommended that all users save their work, close their applications (e.g. Premiere Pro, Media Composer, ...), and unmount any EVO shares.
In order of preference, here are three different ways to power off EVO.
- Log in to the web GUI, navigate to the System > Power & UPS page (
/#/power) and use the Shutdown button. It will take a few minutes to complete the process. - One short push of the front panel Power button will also initiate the shutdown process, and it will be completed in a few minutes.
- If EVO is in a distressed state-- web GUI not responding, front panel button not responding, or if instructed by SNS Tech Support, the unit may also be shut down by holding the front panel Power Button until power shuts off. This would usually take about 3 to 5 seconds. This is equal to a FORCE QUIT, and is to be avoided if at all possible.
Note: If you have an expansion chassis, it is designed to remain powered on even when the main EVO unit has been powered down. The drives in the expansion chassis remain powered because they need to be present when the head unit starts up. If you would like to shut down the expansion chassis after the EVO head unit has been powered down, switch off the expansion chassis using its power button (depending on the age of the unit this may be on the front or back) or disconnect its power cables.
Always restore power to the expansion chassis before powering up the main EVO head unit to which the expansion unit is attached.
