The latest version of Synology's DiskStation Manager requires enabling the Always Send "SessionType" when connecting setting in the globalSAN initiator.
Unlock the lock to make changes and then click "iSCSI Options..." to find and check the box.
If the initiator still doesn't connect, it may be required to remove and then add the target again.
