The ShareBrowser “Export To Premiere” feature lets users bring media files into a Premiere project, along with ShareBrowser tags and comments. The SB tags & comments are mapped to Description and Log Notes fields, which can be viewed in the Premiere Media Browser window.
How to use the ShareBrowser “Export To Premiere” feature:
- Ensure that you have the Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit CC file installed (see below).
- Open the Premiere project into which you'd like to import the media files + ShareBrowser tags & comments.
- In ShareBrowser, navigate to one or more media files to be exported to your Premiere project.
- On any selected file, right-click to expose the contextual menu.
- Choose “Export To Premiere”.
- The selected media files will be exported to the currently open Premiere project, along with any ShareBrowser tags & comments associated with those selected media files.
How to get Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit CC:
The Extendscript Toolkit CC download is available at this page, or from within the application:
- Log in to Adobe CC.
- Click on the gear icon to open Preferences.
- Choose Apps.
- Scroll down to Settings, and enable the Show Older Apps option.
- Click Done.
- Select All Apps.
- Scroll down to ExtendScript Toolkit CC.
- Click Install.
Note: Apple's Gatekeeper policy may prevent install for the Toolkit. The protection can generally be circumvented by right-clicking and opening, or by simply restoring the older macOS option to allow software to be installed from anywhere.
To restore the "Anywhere" option in System Preferences, open Terminal and enter
sudo spctl --master-disable
followed by the workstation password.
To re-enable the policy afterwards, enter
sudo spctl --master-enable
Note: From this Adobe article, "The ExtendScript Toolkit, which is a 32-bit application, will no longer work on macOS 10.15."
The integrated ShareBrowser panel available at the Adobe Exchange allows for drag and drop, which also adds tags and comments, and is supported in Catalina.
